Darling Square will shine bright for the festive season with an exciting lineup of light installations, free family activities and entertainment from 6 to 21 December. The bustling precinct will come alive with Christmas festivities across more than 50 venues, from alfresco diners to cafés and laneway eateries.
Select retailers will have exclusive Christmas menus across the two weeks. Uliveto is offering a three-course Christmas set menu, for $90 per person with dishes ranging from Salmon Canapés to Surf & Turf, and festive desserts like a Snowman Parfait or Pistachio & Berry Trifle. IIKO Mazesoba will serve a limited-edition Christmas range of its signature housemade noodle bowls, including Chicken Karaage Mentaiko, Wagyu Mentaiko Mazesoba and more.
Free activities and entertainment across the precinct include:
- A light tunnel installation that will glow each night for the festive period. A photo opportunity will be available to capture photos with family and friends, as the sparkling exhibit creates a bright and inviting backdrop.
- Free Christmas-themed face painting with festive designs will be available on Saturday 6, 13 and 20 December from 5-8pm.
- Christmas bauble decorating workshops on Sunday 14 and 21 December from 4-7pm. ● Live music will be featured each Friday and Saturday night from 6-9pm, presented by talented Australian artists singing festive favourites.
Darling Square is Sydney’s premier destination for dining, shopping, and leisure, making it the perfect festive-season hotspot. Visitors can explore over 50 retailers, relax on the village green, and wander the charming cobblestoned laneways. Guests can also visit the precinct’s new retailers, including Yayoi, Moyashi, Dragon Hot Pot, and Don’to. Tumbalong Boulevard and its cross-streets feature a mix of eateries from Korean BBQ and Vietnamese to Japanese cafés and dessert bars, including Marrickville Pork Roll, Edition Coffee Roasters, and Matcha-Ya. At the heart, The Exchange offers communal dining with vendors like Dapur Sate, Batch Brewing Co, and XOPP by Golden Century, creating a vibrant hub for friends, family, and festive celebrations.
