Looking for something different to do during your lunch break? Bondi Pavilion is bringing live music to the heart of Bondi Beach with a series of free monthly lunchtime concerts featuring some of Sydney’s talented musicians. From the timeless swing of Frank Sinatra to soulful folk music and festive Christmas favourites, there’s plenty to look forward to at the Pav this spring and early summer.

Presented by Waverley Council, Lunchtime Concerts at the Pav offers locals and visitors the chance to enjoy professional live music in a relaxed, intimate setting without spending a cent. Held in the High Tide Room at Bondi Pavilion, each one-hour performance provides a welcome opportunity to step away from the daily routine and enjoy a little culture by the coast.

A Midweek Musical Escape at Bondi Beach

Bondi Pavilion has long been an important part of the Eastern Suburbs’ cultural scene, hosting everything from theatre and exhibitions to community workshops and live performances.

Its monthly lunchtime concert series brings music into the middle of the working week, making it easy for residents, retirees, local workers and visitors to enjoy a live performance without committing to an evening out.

The concerts run from 1.30pm to 2.30pm on selected Wednesdays, with a different artist or musical style featured each month. The High Tide Room provides an intimate atmosphere where audiences can appreciate the musicians up close.

Best of all, admission is free. However, bookings are required to reserve a seat.

Wednesday 14 October – Lionel Robinson Celebrates Frank Sinatra

Step back into the golden age of swing as pianist and vocalist Lionel Robinson pays tribute to the legendary Frank Sinatra.

Inspired by Sinatra’s timeless repertoire, Robinson brings his own charm, humour and accomplished musicianship to a collection of classic songs associated with Ol’ Blue Eyes.

With a career that began in London, including performing as a pianist at Elton John’s restaurant, Robinson has since established himself as a familiar name on Sydney’s jazz and lounge music scene. His performances range from intimate solo appearances to leading a 20-piece band.

Audiences can expect an entertaining afternoon of sophisticated melodies, swinging rhythms and nostalgic favourites, all delivered with the style and personality that have made Sinatra’s music popular across generations.

Wednesday 11 November – Miriam Lieberman Brings Soulful Folk Music to Bondi

November’s concert takes audiences on a musical journey with singer-songwriter Miriam Lieberman, whose distinctive sound combines African musical influences, folk traditions, blues and rich vocal harmonies.

Lieberman’s music reflects her experiences living in Latin America and West Africa, as well as her connection to nature and the personal stories that shape our lives.

Performing on instruments including the kora and guitar, she creates thoughtful, atmospheric songs exploring themes of love, motherhood, creativity, transformation and loss.

For this performance, Lieberman will be joined by acclaimed musician Lara Goodridge, known for her work with Baby et Lulu and FourPlay. Goodridge’s expressive violin playing and beautiful vocal harmonies add another dimension to Lieberman’s music.

Together, the musicians promise an intimate and moving performance that offers something quite different from a traditional lunchtime concert.
